You’re invited to the launch of the Gender & Health Hub (GHH) at the Sixty-fifth session of the Commission on the Status of Women (UN CSW 65)!
- When: 26 March 2021
- Time: 8:30 – 10:00am US EDT
Coordinated by the United Nations University International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH), GHH seeks to bridge the gap between people, knowledge, policy and action to increase uptake and investment in effective strategies to address gender inequalities in health systems and health outcomes. GHH will support priority areas for gender-transformative interventions to contribute to the Global Action Plan for Healthy Lives and Well-Being (GAP).
This event is co-organised by the UNU-IIGH and UN Women, together with members of the Gender Working Group of the Global Action Plan on Health and Well-being (including the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria; The World Bank; UNDP; UNFPA; The Global Financing Facility for Women, Children and Adolescents; UNICEF; GAVI, UNAIDS, the ILO, and WHO).
We’ll explore questions like: what are the existing gaps that hinder the practical integration of gender and health? And how does the Hub support the identification and addressing of these gaps?
We’ll discuss and answer questions like what makes a policy successful and what can we learn from unsuccessful policies? What actually drives sustainable change? While also exploring examples of successful technical approaches and effective political strategies.
